By Car:

North:

Ø Travel eastbound along A720 (Edinburgh city bypass) take 3^rd exit from Sheirffhall roundabout signposted Newcraighall.  Follow bypass along and take first exit signposted Jedburgh A68.

Ø Travel approximately 16 miles, and take second exit at Carefraemill roundabout signposted Jedburgh A68.

Ø Travel approximately 10 miles to the town of Earlston. Turn left onto the A6105 (signposted Town Centre, Kelso, Duns)

Ø Travel 2miles though and out of Earlston then bear right onto B6397 signposted Smailholm and Kelso.

Ø Continue four miles on B6397 and Girnick Cottage is signposted on the right just beyond Rachelfield farm on the left.

 South:

Ø Continue out of Jedburgh on the A68 for 2miles  until you reach  Bonjedward take the second junction on the right signposted Kelso A698

Ø Continue approximately 13 miles to Kelso across the new bridge at the end of the bridge take the second exit at roundabout, then continue forward to next roundabout take second exit, third roundabout take first exit signposted Golf Course road.

Ø Travel along Golf course road until you come to another roundabout and take the second exit to the right on the A 6089 Gordon, Edinburgh Road.

Ø Approx 1mile turn left on to B6397 signed Smailholm.  Pass through village, continue down the hill for approx 1 mile, take the 2^nd road on left signed Girnick.

Ø The brick cottage is first on the right.
